Welcome to Southwell Karate Club, a cherished part of the Southwell community for over 20 years! Located at the Southwell Leisure Centre, we offer a warm and inclusive environment where individuals of all ages, from five to seventy, can come together to learn the art of Wado Ryu Karate, Kickboxing, and Self-Defence. Our club is not just about martial arts; it's about building confidence, discipline, and friendships that last a lifetime.

Our classes are held every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in the squash courts, where we focus on teaching essential skills such as kicking, punching, blocking, and kata (pattern forms). We also incorporate sparring into our training, ensuring that all participants are equipped with the necessary protective gear. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced martial artist, our dedicated instructors will guide you at your own pace, helping you refine your technique and achieve your personal goals.

At Southwell Karate Club, we believe in personal progress and dedication. Gradings are held every four months up to the Purple Belt level, and every six months from Brown and above, culminating in the prestigious Black Belt, which requires commitment and perseverance. Our expert instructors, Kyaw Maung and Bill Edwards, both highly experienced black belts, are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping you apply your skills in real-life situations through regular self-defence lessons.
